This hand-knotted “Golden Fringes” is a prayer rug woven in the late 19th century, in Sivas, Türkiye. Surrounding the mihrab, the spandrels and borders are densely adorned with geometric and stylized floral motifs, including rosettes, blossoms, and variations of ram’s horns.
