Hand-knotted in the early-to-mid-20th century, “Nevbahar” (New Spring – Turkish) features a refined central medallion set within a patterned floral field. The design centers around a multi-lobed diamond medallion rendered in soft beige and muted rose tones, surrounded by a symmetrical array of stylized vines, palmettes, and rosettes. The rich brown-black ground creates contrast, allowing the ornate botanical details in sage green, antique gold, and dusty blue to stand out. The floral scrollwork symbolizes abundance and continuity, while the medallion reflects unity and cosmic centrality.
Woven using the Turkish Ghiordes knot, this piece features a medium-to-high knot density, indicating a skilled artisan’s hand.
