This antique Bor, Niğde rug, “Lev Tahor” (Pure Heart – Hebrew) is distinguished by its bold central medallion and a densely decorated symbolic field. At its heart lies a multi-lobed medallion, surrounded by stylized geometric and vegetal forms. The composition is framed by a wide border, where repeated motifs such as ram’s horns and hands-on-hips appear; symbols traditionally associated with fertility, strength, and womanhood. Stylized animal figures and amulets throughout the field reflect beliefs in protection and prosperity. The deep madder-red ground is enriched with shades of indigo, ivory, saffron, and faded greens, lending Lev Tahor an earthy yet vibrant character.
